About Me
I have been working with people all my life. I started as a nurse, (RGN,) then began practising and eventually teaching complementary therapies. Early in my practice, I noticed people really liked to talk, sometimes it was challenging to fit a massage in!
So I took the short Counselling Skills course at Aberdeen University – this informed my work from then on – I was so grateful I had done that. I learned that people generally have their own answers when given space.
After 30 years, I have now come full circle and completed my diploma with the University of the Highlands and Islands. I have since studied with many well-known teachers and I love how the holistic and the science do really sit well together when explored at depth.
I love learning and am currently taking a PDA in Children and Young People and next year will be commencing a diploma in specialised psychotherapy for ex-boarders.
I’m a volunteer counsellor with Women’s Aid, I volunteer on the board of Moray Handyperson Services and I volunteer with BDMLR as a marine mammal medic. My home is shared with 2 scruffy-hairy dogs and a sleek cat.
